The story behind I’m not just a Scribble…

Let’s inspire our kids to create ART!

Did you know many of the motions involved in making art, such as scribbling with a crayon are essential to the growth of fine motor skills in young children?

I wanted to create a book that inspired ART in children as well as teaching them to cherish being unique! And I believe this book accomplishes those two things!

The story behind the story

My son actually inspired the character for this book, he’s still new to drawing and most of his drawings would be scribbles that he wasn’t too excited about. Then one day he got the idea to put two googly eyes on his drawing and his eyes just lit up. And that’s how scribble the character was created He started to make all his little scribbles into little creatures and he was so happy! It not only made him want to draw more but gave him confidence with his drawings.

A little about the book

It’s a playful rhyming book about a scribble. This scribble looks different then the other drawings and because of that they don’t want to play with him. In the end they overcome there differences and make beautiful art! This book’s target audience is between ages 2-6

Stickers!

My son was still putting googly eyes on his scribbles so I thought, why not create stickers! My child just loved them!! So each book will include a sheet of 100 stickers as well so your child can create their own “Scribble”

My daughter is 3 and we love this book! She didn’t want to color because nothing ever looked right, and now everything she creates is a scribble, spot, splatter, or snippet! Her grandpa had surgery and she made him a page of scribbles. They live on a farm and she was worried the chickens were going to get the scribbles. After we left she had a melt down because she was worried the chickens would get inside the house and take the scribbles away from grandpa. That’s how much her scribbles mean to her! I guess we will be ordering all the spot books about emotions next! But thank you because this has opened up our daughters imagination!!!
